Everyone loves the traditional NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookie recipe. Sure. But do we really have to stick so closely to it? If we add a few things, will the NTHCCCC* come down on us like a ton of bricks? There is really only one way to find out.

NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Chocolate Chip Cookie Remix with Cranberries and Molasses.

It’s pretty simple. You take your basic NTCC recipe, as follows:

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

Except, where they use 3/4 cups each brown and white sugar, I used 1 1/4 cups white sugar, and 3 TBSP molasses.

And where they said 2 cups of chips,  I used 1 cup chips, 1 cup dried cranberries.  Or “craisins” as they are known to people who find the idea of dried cranberries a little too challenging. And I added some nutmeg. Just for the hell of it. You don’t have to. Actually you don’t have to do any of this. It’s a free country, is what I am trying to say. Express yourself. Use butterscotch chips and macadamia nuts for all I care, you big freak. You’re the one who has to eat them.


Mix first three dry ingredients in one bowl.  Mix the sugars and the liquid ingredients in another bowl, and beat until creamy.  Empty the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients with a big satisfying FWUMP and mix together.

Oh yeah,  and you should have preheated your oven to 375 F. You better do that now.

Mix in your chips/cranberries/nuts/gummy bears/etc.

Grease a cookie sheet or two and drop walnut sized scoops of batter onto the sheets. Once your oven actually gets up to 375F, put in the sheets and cook for about 11 minutes each. Allow to cool.

Once cool, these will acheive the perfect chewy-cookie consistency, and will keep it if you keep them in an airtight tupperware-style container.

Enjoy! But keep them out of the hands of the authorities. You do not want to have to live in fear of their goons.
